A past students' union with a large, dispersed membership and no single place where members could prove membership, find each other, or take part in the union's activities.
Membership verification, events and rewards were handled by hand, and the union wanted a platform it could run itself.
Design and build a membership platform for mobile and web, with an administrative back office and an API, and ship it to a public app store.
Verified membership with an administrative gate came before any feature that depended on it. A member who cannot be verified cannot be trusted with a wallet or a door.
The platform was built as a React Native application, a web administration console and a REST API, so that the same foundation could carry later features and later clients.
The application was released to the Play Store, with the administrative gate, check-in and wallet in the released version.
